Our Houses
Five Homes. One Community.
There are four Houses at Peponi – Chala, Magadi, Elementaita and Jipe – each one offering full boarding, weekly boarding and day options to all age-groups. There is also Sedge House, recently refurbished to an exceptional level, which accommodates our Shell (Year 9), thereby caring and overseeing the transition from Prep School to Senior School. All Houses work together to create a unique family community.
Each House has approximately seventy pupils, their individual needs are met and nurtured by a resident Housemaster or Housemistress who oversees each pupil’s welfare.
Key facts:
- Full and weekly boarders have individual rooms, whilst day pupils share.
- Situated within easy walking distance of the School’s classrooms and facilities
- All meals are taken in our Dining Hall
- On weekday evenings, a supervised prep session takes place.
- Each pupil has their own Personal Tutor which further enhances the pastoral provision in place.
Through Inter-House Competitions - ranging from debating to dance; from rugby to rounders - loyalty to one’s House occurs and a sense of spirit and inclusivity resonates. Consequently, the House can often be the environment in which a pupil of any age feels they have the best chance to unlock potential away from the classroom.
