Peponi House proudly represented Kenya at the World School Games 2025 in Dubai, reaffirming our commitment to excellence in sport and holistic education. The event, held from 23rd to 25th January, featured 21 schools from eight countries, competing in swimming, athletics, and football across various age groups.
From the moment the team, stepped onto the international stage, they all embodied the school’s core values, discipline, determination, and respect. Facing intense competition, including Olympic-level swimmers, our athletes delivered outstanding performances, gaining invaluable experience and forming friendships across cultures.
The exposure at such a prestigious event not only strengthened their confidence but also reinforced Peponi House’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel both academically and athletically.
A standout moment was the U13 Girls’ football match against IS Moscow, where goalkeeper Pallisa delivered a stellar performance, saving a crucial penalty, earning her the Player of the Match title. Reflecting on the game, she remarked, “I made a lot of good saves, and it was an amazing match!”
Zahabiya displayed her exceptional all-round abilities by scoring in football and securing gold in discus with a throw of 17.65 metres. Her parents expressed their pride, stating that they were honoured to celebrate such a prestigious international victory.
Peponi House, with our mantra, a school of many nations, a family of one, showed togetherness, commitment, and unwavering team spirit, earning the Spirit of the Games award. This prestigious accolade recognises schools that display exceptional sportsmanship, integrity, and enthusiasm throughout the tournament. In 2022, the award was renamed the “Julius Oniosun Spirit of the Games” in honour Julius Oniosun, an inspirational coach from Lagos who lived by the values celebrated by the competition.
