Sophie joined the Peponi Family in September 2017 as a Year 5 teacher; she then took on the role of Head of Juniors the following year where she over saw the running of the Junior Department at Peponi House.
In September 2020, she became the Headmistress of Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten, whilst continuing at Peponi House as Head of Pre-Prep. She has a degree in Primary Education and has been teaching in Kenya for over 10 years.
Sophie has taught children ranging from 2 years old to 13 years old and has a passion for Early Years Education. Prior to Peponi, she worked at Braeburn Mombasa where she was head of English and Head of Maths. She started her life in Kenya up at Pembroke House in Gilgil, her plan had been to come to Kenya for 1 year, that was 13 years ago.
Outside of school, Sophie has a passion for sport and drama, she has a tennis “pedigree”, as her Grandmother was a Wimbledon Champion, though she insists those tennis genes skipped a generation. She is married to Mr Ross, the Director of Sport at Peponi House and has two children, a son and a daughter. The family community and welcoming feel of the Peponi Schools are very important to Sophie as both a Headteacher and a parent.
